Product Description

Operating rooms and surgical suites are the sites of modern-day miracles. Yet we all know that in the complex and dynamic environment of the OR, with its constant change and time pressures, opportunities for errors abound with high-tech equipment, potentially lethal drugs, evolving pathogens, and situational and environmental factors. That’s why surgical settings need to be continuously and consistently providing the best, safest, and highest quality care possible. Joint Commission accreditation is key to the provision of safe patient care.

This brand-new book is the first of its kind—an accreditation prep guide specifically for surgical settings. Survey Readiness Guide for Surgical Settings: Standards, Tracers, and Tools is a comprehensive self-assessment, survey-readiness tool. It includes all relevant Joint Commission accreditation standards and provides an overview of The Joint Commission survey process, in general, and as it pertains to achieving and maintaining compliance in hospitals, critical access hospitals, office-based surgery practices, and outpatient and ambulatory surgical centers. It also explains mock tracers in surgical settings.
